Your Contribution As a Senior Financial Controller, you will be the right hand of the Finance & Control Manager and responsible for one of the largest entities within the Royal HZPC Group. You play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the financial figures of the Dutch entities and processes. You review work and actively contribute to the development of our financial organization.
Additionally, you are an important sparring partner for the manager and involve others in your vision. You clearly explain why and how processes such as the month-end closing are structured and ensure support. You are decisive and know how to convince and motivate colleagues.
Specifically, your main tasks include :
- Understanding data flows from ERP systems such as Oracle Netsuite to the financial administration
- Analyzing and reporting financial results to support business controllers and management decisions. You also dive into new reporting standards and technical accounting topics, ensuring compliance with Dutch GAAP
- Collaborating closely with internal financial stakeholders, including the Finance Manager NL, Business Controller, and budget holders, to improve processes
- Bringing structure and substance to the month-end closing process to safeguard reliable financial processes and documentation
- Delivering timely and accurate financial information along with your own analyses. This provides insight into performance (balance sheet, profit and loss account, and cash flow), enabling colleagues to make operational and strategic decisions
- Ensuring proper financial documentation and compliance with audit standards. You prepare specifications for the external audit, monitor their quality for the Dutch entities, and answer questions from the auditor
Your Profile You are an experienced and analytical senior finance professional who effortlessly switches between details and the bigger picture. You communicate clearly and can explain complex financial information in an understandable way. You have natural persuasive power and know how to guide colleagues through change.
Additionally, you have:
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance & Control or a related field
- At least 10 years of experience in a financial control role
- Strong analytical skills and a proactive attitude in obtaining (non-)financial information
- Knowledge of Dutch GAAP
- Experience with ERP systems, especially Oracle Netsuite, is a plus
- Fluency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft applications
- Strong communication skills and the ability to coach on content
- Decisive, flexible, and accustomed to handling peak periods

The Financial Control team consists of four colleagues, including you. You work closely with the Business Controller and Finance Manager of the Dutch entities. The Accounting department handles the process-oriented aspects of financial administration.
